J.D. Frizzell is the President of the A Cappella Education Association and June Vocal Music, two American nonprofits dedicated to empowering people to sing. J.D. received his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from The University of Kentucky.
His high school a cappella ensemble OneVoice has been featured at the Emmys, on America’s Got Talent, and at many choral conferences. They have collaborated with The Swingles, VOCES8, and New York Voices. Their albums and videos, which have been viewed and listened to over 100 million times, have received 13 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards and 34 nominations.
J.D. also directs the professional soul/jazz fusion group Nomadic. He is also the co-author of “A Cappella Warmups” with Deke Sharon.
