Julia Zipprick is a jazz singer, composer and voice teacher based in Cologne, Germany. She sings and plays as a part of the improvisation collective VokalOrchester NRW, the Latin American-Cologne band AMAGO and as a soloist for Big Bands and Jazz Ensembles. Recently she has performed with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Theo Bleckmann and Rhiannon.
She teaches popular singing, singing didactics and vocal improvisation at the University of Cologne, the Folkwang University of the Arts and the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt. As a vocal coach, she has worked for the German Music Council, the German Choir Association and with many well-known choirs and was, among other things, a juror at the German Choir Competition in 2023.
In her masterclasses for vocal technique and improvisation she is known for conveying complex knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner, with humor and in an engaging way.
Julia studied jazz singing and vocal pedagogy at the University of Music Cologne, Complete Vocal Technique in Copenhagen (authorization as CVT teacher) and improvisation with Rhiannon.
