We at Aarhus Vocal Festival are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive safe space for all that may participate. In order to do so we provide you with this Code of Conduct which outlines our expectations for behavior and interactions within the festival.
With everything that’s going on in the world we want to remind you that AAVF is not a political festival and we welcome everyone no matter their background, religion or culture. We want to come together and create a safe space to make music and sing together.
As we value diversity and being respectful toward one another, we ask that you agree to follow these guide lines, and thereby participate in making a positive and supportive environment for the festival. If you experience or see something that doesn’t seem right to you, please feel safe enough to approach someone from AAVF team.
1. Respect for all:
Treat everyone (coaches, singers, organizers as well as the participants) with respect, regardless of their age, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or any other characteristic.
Avoid discriminatory or offensive language, jokes or behavior.
Be mindful of your language and behavior. Avoid offensive and disrespectful conduct.
Refrain from harassment, bullying or intimidation of any kind.
2. Safe Environment:
Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all participants.
Report any unsafe or inappropriate behavior to festival organizers promptly.
3. Privacy and Boundaries:
Respect the personal boundaries and privacy of fellow participants.
4. Inclusivity and Diversity:
Embrace and celebrate diversity in our community.
Encourage participation from underrepresented groups.
5. Collaboration:
Work together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual support.
Avoid disruptive or disrespectful behavior.
6. Accountability:
Take responsibility for your actions and words.
Be open to feedback and constructive criticism to improve your skills and interactions.
7. Consequences:
Violations of this code may result in warnings, temporary suspension from activities or removal from the festival, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.
Consequences will be determined by AAVF organizers.

If you witness or experience a violation of this code, report it to the organizers of the festival and we will investigate and take appropriate action.
