Airo is a modern and ambitious Aarhus-based choir practicing and performing through a combination of arranged choral music and improvisation through Vocal Painting. The choir presents concerts which introduce experimental layers and a wide emotional range to a Nordic tonal quality. Airo consists of 36 singers, evenly divided between women and men aged 20–35, whose balanced vocals create depth, energy and a strong physical presence for the audience.
Airo’s artistic practice combines tradition and innovation, with a focus on developing its sound through improvisation and collective exploration. Driven by a strong sense of community, the choir is constantly developing and seeking opportunities to contribute to an artistic environment where Nordic expression meets the rhythmic choral tradition, creating space for emotion, atmosphere, and resonance.
Airo is conducted by its founder Margrethe Debel
Fællesklang Aarhus is one of the proofs that the interest in choirsinging has exploded. The choir is Aarhus’ largest choir with 200 singers aged 18-35. In Fællesklang Aarhus, the emphasis is on the joy of singing, coziness and community, which is clearly felt on stage when the choir gives the audience its all with Disney songs and newer Danish pop/rock songs.
ignis is a rhythmic choir, conducted by Christian Fris-Ronsfeld, with one clear mission: to build a high-class instrument – and have a great time while doing it. Founded in September 2024 and based in Aarhus, ignis brings together 36 singers aged 21+ from all over Denmark.
With a broad rhythmic repertoire and ambitious 6–8-part arrangements, the choir delivers choral music packed with edge, energy, and presence.
Since the choir’s beginning it has achieved more than 800,000 views across their platforms.
In ignis, community is the foundation of everything they do. Music and togetherness are equally important. This is evident on stage, where joy and passion translate into powerful musical moments and a shared celebration with the audience.
The choir will be joined on stage by a live band: Henriette Krogh (drums), Johannes Aaen Jensen (keys & guitar) and Rasmus Boje-Nielsen (bass & guitar).
The sound universe of Lunar Vocals is dreamy, expressive and has a special shimmering quality. Their repertoire consists primarily of their own arrangements within folk, pop, soul and folk music – and is often combined with improvisation and vocal painting based on both well-known and original compositions.
Being the female choir in Aarhus singing this musical style, they add a distinct sound to the rhythmic choral landscape – and creates a strong presence where the audience is drawn into the music.
