Annemarie Homan is a Dutch singer, arranger, choir conductor and software tester (yes, really!). She has been making music for as long as she can remember, first playing the organ and then also singing in the local church choirs as a child. She discovered close harmony singing when she joined the students close harmony choir Dekoor in Utrecht. After that she has sung in other Dutch top groups like Be Sharp!, Vocalicious and Ambrosia. Annemarie is the proud holder of a diploma in Innovative Choir Leading at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg.
In 2012, together with Emily May ‘t Hoen, she brought to life the first edition of The Single Singers at the London A Cappella Festival. The Single Singers is a kind of ‘festival choir’, but over the years it has become much more than that. It really brings people together from all over the world that share the love for a cappella singing.
“After 12 years of Single Singers I am proud of what The Single Singers has become: a real global a cappella community that has created lasting friendships that span across borders and that bridge the gaps between cultures.”
