SORA…
is an ambitious women’s choir for young female voices, led by Birgitte Næslund Madsen, with the goal of becoming Denmark’s premier women’s choir. The name SORA means “sister” in Latin and also references Aros, the old name for Aarhus, spelled backwards.
Since debuting in 2023, SORA has performed concerts across Denmark, toured with Guldimund, and appeared at venues including Musikhuset Aarhus and Sankt Michaelis Kirche.
The choir’s repertoire spans classical and contemporary works for women’s voices as well as Nordic and international folk-inspired music, creating concert experiences that blend tradition, innovation, and strong visual expression.
