Peter has been heavily involved in the music scene both internationally and locally since 1997, wearing different hats as a singer, songwriter, producer, vocal percussionist, vocal arranger and recording engineer. He is best known as the co-founder and vocal percussionist of MICappella, a Singaporean vocal band. The band has performed at high-profile events like the 2019 Singapore Grand Prix flag-off, the National Day Parades in 2018 and 2022, and has opened for stars such as David Tao and Khalil Fong. MICappella has also performed at the Asia Song Festival in Busan, Korea.
Beyond MICappella, Peter has held solo concerts in Taiwan, Toronto, and Singapore. He’s worked with prestigious orchestras, including the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra and the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra. Peter has also led masterclasses at notable festivals like the Mosaic Music Festival and Voices Festival, organised by The
Esplanade.
Peter’s work extend to backing vocals as well, including performances at Xinyao concerts, where he sang backing vocals and also performed a duet with renowned Taiwanese singer Ye Huan (葉歡). As an experienced judge and mentor, Peter has served on panels and conducted workshops at a cappella festivals in the USA, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Australia,
and Singapore.
He was an exclusive songwriter with Touch Publishing and BMG Publishing Singapore, and worked as a producer, engineer, and arranger at Atticgroove Music. After studying at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, Peter also contributed to the debut album of Taiwanese girl group MYRS and worked with artists like Roger Yang (杨培安).
