The imaginative electronic pop artist Vibeke Falden (DK) sings, writes and produces her music herself. As a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for synths and samplers, she fuses organic and electronic sound textures with her distinctive voice and strong hook lines, creating mind boggling yet catchy earworms unlike anything previously heard.
Vibeke Falden has opened for notable artists like Imogen Heap and Lydmor (DK) and performed at the prominent music industry festival SPOT (DK).
Performing live, Falden interacts smoothly with her setup; a mixture of laptop, synthesizers and controllers. She creates lush vocal loops inspired by the atmosphere within the audience, and transforms them into ambient sound scapes using various digital and analog effects. These improvised intermezzos are mixed into her already released tracks, making her show an intuitive and different live experience.
Vibeke Faldens has been featured on Apple Music’s ‘Best of the Week’ and Spotify’s ‘New Indie and Alternative’ editorial playlists. In 2021, Falden’s own record label Wunderwelt Music released the singles ‘Club Queue’ and ‘Together’. The blog LeFutureWave reflected on ‘Together’, saying that “Instantly recognizable vocals flow over an infectious production, featuring upright bass, warm retro synths, and chestnuts. The verses leading building towards a strong chorus, highlighting lyrics that are so well-written”
ARTIST LIVING AND PROJECTS
Vibeke Falden is an artist breathing and living music, not only on stage but in everyday life as a continuous life project. In 2021, she went on a tour in Greenland with the North Atlantic music organization GFD Collective, founded by herself and Sanne Grothe Wiwe in 2018. GFD’s primary objective is to spread awareness of inspiring music by artists from Greenland, Faroe Islands and Denmark and increase interest for North Atlantic culture through a new generation of musicians. Falden is also co-founder of ‘MODlyd’, a music production community for female and gender minorities in her home city, Aalborg.
